Filling up the posts of (1) Curator (Display), Group ‘A’ post in P.B. 3 Rs.15,600-39,100, with Grade Pay Rs.6,600/; (2) Curator (Conservation) Group ‘A‘ post in P.B. 3 Rs.15,600-39,100 with Grade Pay Rs.6,600/; and (3) Dy. Curator, Group ‘A’ post in P.B.3, Rs.15,600-39,100, Grade Pay Rs.5,400/

Applications are invited from candidates fulfilling eligibility criteria for the under mentioned posts .

The Period of Probation is two years

Essential:

(i) Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture / Interior Designs/ Fine Arts or equivalent from a recognized University, and

(ii) 7 years experience in layout of Galleries and organizing exhibitions in Museums/ Art Galleries/ Cultural Institutions at a Senior Level.

Desirable:
(i) Diploma in Museology.
(ii) Knowledge of Modern exhibition methods and techniques.
(iii) Experience of organizing at least two exhibitions.
(iv) Computer Knowledge (M. S. Office).

Note: Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Appointing Authority on the recommendation of the Selection Committee/DPC, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

The Period of Probation is two years for direct recruits.

**Applications for direct recruitment are also invited, but they will be considered only when no candidate is selected by promotion /deputation.

Essential:
(i) A Master’s degree with Chemistry / Conservation from a Recognized University
and
(ii) 7 years experience in the field of Conservation at a senior level in a reputed Museum / Cultural Institution / University.Desirable:
(i) Degree / Diploma in Museology.
(ii) Al least 2 years research experience in the field of Conservation.
(iii) Should have attended in-service trainings on Conservation.
(iv) Computer Knowledge (M.S. Office)Promotion
Departmental Dy. Curator (Conservation) in the Pay Band of Rs.15,600-39,100 with Grade pay Rs.5,400 with 5 years of regular service in the grade are eligible to be considered for promotion.If the Departmental candidate is selected for appointment to the post, it will be treated as having been filled by promotion.

II. Deputation (including short term contract)

Officers under the Central/ State Governments/ Recognized Universities and Recognized Research Institutions/ Statutory organizations/ Autonomous bodies.

(a) (i) Holding analogous post on regular basis in Pay Band of Rs.15,600-39,100 with Grade Pay Rs.6,600.
Or
(ii) With 5 years regular service in the post in the Pay Band Rs. 15,600/­39,100/- with grade pay Rs. 5,400,
Or
(iii) With 6 years regular service in the post in the Pay Band Rs. 9,300/­34,800/- with Grade Pay Rs.4,800/,
Or
(iv) With 7 years regular service in the post in the Pay Band Rs.9,300/- 34,800/­with Grade Pay Rs.4,600.

AND

(b) Possessing the educational and other qualifications/experience prescribed above.

candidate as per the extant orders of the Govt. of India.

Direct recruitment quota

The Period of Probation is two years

Essential:

A Master’s degree in Museology / Fine Arts /Archeology /History from a recognized University
And
5 years working experience in a reputed Museum / Cultural Institution in a responsible position

Desirable:
(i) Diploma in Museology for Non Museology Post Graduates.
(ii) Published works on Museum.
(iii) Computer Knowledge (M.S. Office).
(iv)Experience of using Collections Management software Note: Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Appointing Authority on the recommendation of the Selection Committee/DPC, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

**Curator (Conservation) : The method of recruitment to the post is by promotion, deputation (including short term contract) failing which by direct recruitment. As such the candidate selected for deputation will be governed by the following conditions.

Conditions for deputation
Note 1: Period of deputation or contract including the period of deputation in another ex cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organizations/departments of the Central Government shall ordinarily not exceed four years.
Note 2: The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation will be not exceeding 55 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.
Note 3: For the purpose of appointment on deputation or absorption basis, the service rendered on a regular basis by an officer prior to 1-1-2006 (the date from which revised pay structure based on Sixth Central Pay Commission recommendations has been extended) shall be deemed to be service rendered in the corresponding Grade Pay or Pay Scale extended basis on the recommendations of the Commission except where there has been merger of more than one pre revised Scale of Pay into one grade with a common Grade Pay or Pay Scale, and when where this benefit will extend only for the post(s) for which the Grade Pay or Pay Scale in the normal replacement grade without any up gradation.

Other Conditions:

  • The Last date for receipt of applications is 10.04.2015.The crucial date for determining the age limit will be the last date for receipt of application.
  • The method of selection will be by interview.
  • Mere fulfilling the minimum prescribed qualifications and experience will not vest any right in a candidate for being called for interview. After completion of the process of screening of the applications, short listing of applicants will be done in the order of merit by giving preference to those who possess higher qualifications, experience and call letters will be sent. The decision of the Museum in this regard shall be final.
  • As the vacancies of Curator ( Display ) and Curator ( Conservation ) are unreserved, no relaxation in age limit is permissible for SC/ST /OBC candidates.
  • In case of Departmental candidates, relaxation in age limit to the extent of service rendered subject to a maximum of 5 years will be allowed subject to the condition that the direct recruitment posts are in the same line or allied cadre and a relationship could be established that the services already rendered in a particular post will be useful for the efficient discharge of the duties of the post advertised.
  • Candidates already in service of Government /Quasi Government/ Institutions or Public Sector Undertakings should apply through proper channel in duplicate. Applications not forwarded through parent organization along with requisite documents will not be considered.
  • The forwarding /endorsing authority shall send the applications in respect of the applicants who can be spared in the event of his/her selection If the application is for deputation, complete up to date copies of ACRS of the applicant for the last five years may be sent in a separate envelope if maintained.
  • . All applications, shall be addressed to “The Administrative-cum-Accounts Officer, Salar Jung Museum, Hyderabad – 500002”.The applications should be sent under registered post with A/D indicating clearly on the top of the envelope, the post for which the application is sent. The applications should reach by 10.04.2015.Applications received after the due date will not be considered and stand rejected.
